Ryan Craig: I might as well be hitting the ball off concrete instead of these fairways.
This evening I went golfing at the Links of Maggie May, a golf course just outside Prince George. Now, this isn't your typical golf course. Just what made this course unique you ask?
1. It's the only course in town where it's easy to lose your golf ball on the fairways.
2. The fairways are hard, have rolling hills, marshes, and many dirt patches.
3. You're basically golfing on the praries - there are only a few trees and each fairway is separated by some slightly longer grass.
4. The greens are really slow.
5. You're yelling "four" more than you're saying "par", "birdie" or "bogie".
Ryan Craig (at the end of the round): Let's make like safe sex and pull out.
Craig of course had a decent round. Mine was so brutal I won't even go there. So what else is new?
I'm down to my final week of work at the Prince George Citizen. While I'm excited about the opportunity to produce feature stories and take photos with PG This Week, I'll be taking a slight pay cut when I go there. Ah well.
I'm more excited about the Funtastic Slow Pitch Tournament, and spending Canada Day in Kamloops. I hope the weather is like it has been lately. Also, Trooper will definetely rock, as will the beer gardens, the fireworks on Canada Day, going camping, seeing all my friends from Journalism in Kamloops, Jessica and Josh in Vernon, and all my relatives joining my team in this exciting tournament. Yup, time to get ready for a serious party. And with this being my only real holiday this summer, I'll be there "for a good time, not a long time."
I also picked my courses for next year, my final year of Journalism, which includes two upper level electives and six journalism courses. I also registered (at the last minute of course) for Journalism 399 - Internship Studies.
Believe it or not, my summer break from school is about half over. It's now been almost 2 1/2 months since school ended. Wow! Anyways, there is still over two months to go so I'm not concerned.
Boy, this heat is something else. It reached like 33 degrees here yesterday, which is extremely HOT for Prince George. Thank goodness for the air conditioning in the Citizen or I would roast to death, well not literally.
